Martial Arts Programs & Classes

Our goal is to build well-rounded martial artists and grapplers and to enrich our students’ lives with the daily training and life skills of martial arts. We are dedicated to bringing our students high-quality instruction in a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment. Jiu Jitsu and Judo are practical and are considered combat martial arts.  Students will learn how to throw, trip, and takedown an opponent and then control that opponent on the ground by pins and holds, and when needing to, submit that opponent with chokes, strangulations, and/or joint locks.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and fighting technique that is designed to help people defend themselves. It’s also a terrific way to tone and firm your body and reap the health benefits of martial arts.

  • BUILDS PHYSICAL FITNESS
  • TEACHES PRACTICAL SELF-DEFENSE TECHNIQUES
  • WALK WITH CONFIDENCE AND PRIDE

The thought of having to defend yourself against a bigger, stronger assailant might be scary, but Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is designed to help you overcome your fears. By teaching students to take the fight to the ground where they can effectively apply chokeholds and other effective techniques to defend themselves, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu helps leverage even a small body into a huge problem for an attacker.

Best of all, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu builds strength and agility, both of which help in self-defense situations.  BJJ can be practiced in both gi and no-gi formats.

BJJ is also an international sport.  We offer competition-level classes as well.   We have multiple decorated competition black belts to help instruct classes.

No Gi Submission Grappling

Submission Grappling is a combat sport involving grappling-type techniques without the use of a uniform.  Its popularity is continuingly growing in the United States and there are many competitions available.

Few other workouts build and tone muscle as effectively as combat wrestling does. Training focuses on strength, balance, and flexibility, building core strength as students progress and advance.

Combat Wrestling, also known as Submission fightingSubmission grappling or Sport grappling is a form of competition and a general term for martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission through the use of submission holds. The term “submission wrestling” usually refers only to the form of competition and training that does not use a gi, or “combat kimono”, of the sort often worn with belts that establish rank by color, though some may use the loose trousers of such a uniform, without the jacket. Not using a gi has a major impact on the sport: there are many choke techniques that make use of the lapels of the gi, thus rendering them unusable, and grappling, in general, becomes more difficult when the opponent doesn’t have a gi to grab hold of.

The sport of submission wrestling brings together techniques from catch wrestling, folk wrestling, Greco-roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, jujutsu, judo, BJJ, and sambo.  Submission fighting as an element of a larger sport setting is very common in mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, catch wrestling, and others. Submission wrestlers or grapplers usually wear shorts, singlets, wrestling trunks, skin-sticky clothing such as rash guards, and mixed short clothes so they do not rip off in combat. They are also known for using submission techniques such as heel hooks, toe holds, and wrist locks.

Youth Jiu-Jitsu & Judo Program

We have a proven systematic curriculum that develops champion grapplers, as well as,  disciplined and self-confident students.  Our program is an excellent choice for developing an anti-bullying mindset, fitness, self-awareness, and self-esteem.

Nobody can succeed in life without the discipline to keep going even when things are difficult. Our students learn discipline and persistence. Martial arts training requires true diligence and that’s not possible without discipline. Students are held to the highest standard of behavior at all times – and what they learn here will help them everywhere else. Martial arts build mental, emotional, and physical strength – and by teaching self-respect, it helps children believe in themselves.

Martial arts help kids get familiar with their bodies and their mental and physical capabilities in a safe and encouraging environment. In our academy everyone is equal, and that helps kids feel that they belong to a welcoming and friendly community.  Our program focuses on all aspects of grappling (Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Wrestling).  The program is open to all kids ages 4 to 12.
